The Perfect Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day is only one week away and I have been subtly dropping hints for my boyfriend to get me the perfect gift. Unfortunately, he thinks that the 14th February is a bit over rated so I think any sentence beginning with “Valentine’s…” quickly turns into white noise.
However, this doesn’t mean that I won’t keep trying!
A trip to Paris would have to be my ultimate dream Valentine’s gift…but I think I might be aiming a bit high, seeing as my boyfriend and I are students. (Maybe I should slip this in when our loans are due).
Anyway, thinking more realistically, my perfect Valentine’s Day would go like this:
The perfect start to my day would be receiving breakfast in bed. Poached eggs and smoked salmon would definitely be the way to my heart!
Receiving a beautiful bouquet of red roses would also set my day up nicely. I don’t know any girl who doesn’t love receiving flowers.
It’s hard not to love living by the seaside. Hot or cold, taking a stroll along the beach in the sunshine can make any day special. Having a picnic, with some wine and nibbles would add to the perfect Valentine’s Day. Also, if the weather is rubbish, we could shelter in my beach hut and snuggle up under some blankets. Nt’aww.
Wine tasting would be a great way to spend the afternoon and it has to be the best present you could give your loved one for Valentine’s day.
What’s not to love about it?
Everyone gets to have fun, you get to spend some quality time together, wine is involved (always good) and you are sure to feel merry by the end of it.
It’s a reasonably priced activity and there is always somewhere nearby offering a wine tasting opportunity.
I love a nice glass of wine and trying all different ones is more exciting than working our way through one bottle of red during the evening on Valentine’s day.
Dinner at a lovely restaurant in town would round the day off nicely.
However, cuddles in our onesies would have to be the best way to end my dream Valentine’s day.
(Let’s hope my boyfriend reads this and takes the hint).
